Quercus robur, QURO, Common oak, one of the most useful species for dendrochronology in Europe. Because it grows in almost the same areas as QUPE, and because wood samples of the two species are difficult or impossible to distinguish, it may often be better to categorize a Quercus collection - at least when historical or archaeological samples are included - as just QUSP.
