Nämdö, one of the bigger islands in Stockholm Archipelago in the north west part o the Baltic sea, 59°12′N 18°42′E. A great part of the island is covered by pine forest, often on onlt thin soil on solid granite ground. There are a number of dendrochronological references available from this island.
