D-Format

D-format (or Sheffield format) by Ian Tyers is a format with meta data stored on the first 22 lines and then a sequence of ring width data - each one on a separate line - with oldest ring width value first and youngest value last. It is described in TRiDaS code repository[1]

In this case the dating is relative: line 3 is "R" ("A" implies absolute dating).
CDendro then adds 8000 to the starting date (year) specified on line 4, here giving 8001 as the starting year (oldest year) of the series.
